In September 2007, Kristy again found herself in the spotlight at a televised WPT table when she defeated five other players, including defending champion JJ Liu to claim the Ladies Night V title. Kristy's special victory earned her entry into an elite club of Ladies Night winners, including Team Full Tilt's Clonie Gowen, JJ Liu, Jennifer Tilly, and Isabelle Mercier.

Born in Torrance, California, Kristy began to learn about the basics of poker at an early age from her father, who spent most of his free time in old card clubs. When she was a teenager she used a fake ID to get into the Commerce Casino with her friends to play Pai Gow whenever she had a chance. One night after losing most of her money she decided to give the poker tables a try. That curiosity along with the tips that her father had given her as a child led to the beginning of a very profitable career in the poker industry. For many years she earned a living playing the tables at the Bicycle Casino and the Commerce Casino, but it wasn’t until Kristy began playing in No-Limit Tournaments that she would become an important figure in the poker world.

She has earned the nickname Kristy "Mixed Games"Gazes because she likes to play a variety of games rather than limiting herself to one game exclusively. In her first No-Limit Tournament it turned out that she played well enough to hit the prize pool. That was the first of many successful cashes in her impressive career. Her first major tournament came in 2001 when she made the final table at the WSOP S.H.O.E event. She had a couple other decent finishes that year at the L.A. Poker Classic as well. Over the next few years she would win a lot of money playing in various tournaments but her most noted victory to date was placing 1st in the 2005 FullTiltPoker.Net Championship where she earned herself $250,000.

Her big break came in 2007 when she finished 7th at the 2007 Crown Aussie Millions Championship tournament for a win of $167,055. She finished 7th in the pot limit Omaha event as well. She won another $150,000 in 2007 for various "in the money"finishes. She also earned national notoriety when she won the World Poker Tour Ladies Night at the Bicycle Casino for a $25,000 1st place finish. As of 2007, her live tournament winnings exceed $800,000. What is she like?

When Kristy is playing at the tables, her playing style is aggressive but she is pretty laid back overall. Besides playing poker, Kristy has many other interests that include surfing, horseback riding and collecting sunglasses.

What is she doing now?

Kristy is taking a little break from poker these days. She’s still is a regular at Full Tilt poker and plans on playing in most the major tournaments but has cut back some to give the stock market a try . She has said that she plans on creating a center for victims of domestic abuse. Now that she has more free time due to playing less poker she is spending a lot of time in Hawaii, where she would like to move in the future to enjoy her retirement.
