Clonie (Cycalona) Gowen was born in Florida in 1971 but grew up in Kiowa, Oklahoma. Her name came from being born in a severe storm incase you were wondering. Growing up she was very athletic and also won Miss Teen McAlester, Oklahoma when she was fifteen. After that she moved to Corsicana, Texas where she finished high school. Around this time she started playing poker for fun and soon fell in love with the game. She would travel to Shreveport, Louisiana every weekend to play poker at the various casinos.

Throughout 2006 and 2007 she continued to place "in the money" at many tournaments but still did not win any bracelets. She did however win first place in a Poker After Dark series "Ladies Week" tournament. This win put $120,000 in her pocket and is her largest win to date. Her lifetime tournament winnings total $690,000.
What's She like?
Clonie is pretty outgoing at the table. She has been known to let a few "four letter words" slip out when she loses a big hand. She likes to travel around the world and scuba diving is one of her favorite hobbies. She also does a lot of charity work by setting up special tournaments that donate a big chunk of the prize pool to various charities.

What's She Doing Now?
Clonie is an active partner in a poker school that teaches aspiring poker players how to play like the Pro's. She is on the board of directors for the United States Poker Association, a non-profit organization that promotes awareness for poker. She has two children, a boy and a girl. She can also be found playing at Full Tilt poker on a regular basis and is a member of "Team Full Tilt". She currently lives in Dallas, Texas with her family. She plans on winning the main event in the coming years.
