Browsing Mixed Drink World Recipes

To browse for mixed drink recipes , click the browse link at the top of any page. To browse by category click any category link or the left menu of any page. To browse by ingredient you must use the advanced search page.

Recipe Search

There are a few ways to search for recipes on the site. You can conduct a Quick Search by using the search box at the top left of every page. The Advanced Search allows you to search for recipes by Name, Ingredient, Drink Type, Glass Type, Recipe features Etc.

E-mailing a recipe

It’s easy to send recipes to your friends: just click E-mail Recipe located below any recipe and follow the prompts.

Logging In

You can log in to your Mixed Drink World account by using the login box in the upper right corner of any page. Once you’re logged in, you can use the member features. Like add to favorites and post a comment or reviews, add friends etc.

Submitting a rating or review

You can rate and review recipes by clicking on the link below any mixed drink recipe description. If you’re not already logged in, you’ll be prompted to do so before you can enter your rating or review.

Saving a drink to your favorites

Click add to favorites link below any mixed drink recipe description. If you have not logged in, you’ll be prompted to do so. Once youve clicked the link you will receive a message telling you the recipe has add to your favorites recipe list ; you can review your favorites list and modify it at anytime you wish by logging in to your account and going to your control panel.

Submitting a mixed drink recipe

Click the link on the far top left navigation menu of any page that says submit a recipe. You must be a member to add mixed drink recipes. Fill out the information to the best of your knowledge and include preparation instructions in your own words. After you have completed the form , you will be notified that is has been submitted. All drink recipes have to be approved by an human editor. Once approved they will be available on MDW.

Forgot password

If you have forgotten your password you can go to this link Forgot Password and reset it by following the on screen instructions. The response email is sent automatically and is confidential.

Printer Friendly

When you click to print a mixed drink recipe it will only print the recipe information.

How to confirm you account

Once you sign up for an account by clicking register. You will be sent a email with a authentication code that you need to return to the site. You will need to enter your email and the unique authentication code. You will get a link in your welcome email to follow.

 

Rating Drinks

When logged in you can rate each mixed drink or member by selecting rate and use the drop down menu to select a rating between 1-5. Excellent (5) Not Good (1). You can only rate each drink or member once.

Review and comments

When logged in to your MDW account you can write a review, make a comment about a drink or about a member. Remember this is reviewed and displayed publicly so lets keep it clean. Unless the member has opted for their comments to be private.

Registration Problems

If you receive a message stating that an account already exists for the user name you entered, you need to choose another name or make your name unique by adding numbers on to it. The user name has to be unique, but the password is your choice. Please use only letters and numbers, as we do not allow symbol characters in our user names and passwords.

Contacting MDW

If the same way you would send a member a message you can send MDW (bartender) a message. Just go to your account controll panel click my messages then send message to bartender. You must be member.

Updating your profile

If you need to update your profile just log in to your account and go to account settings. Update the information in the provided fields. It will be updated immediately. You can leave any field blank if you choose.

What is an avatar?

Usually it is an icon or representation of a user in the form a small picture. Here at MDW it should be 46x46 pixels square . It is best to choose an image that is square and web ready. Only GIF or JPEG images are accepted. You may also us a larger web images other than 46x46 but it will be auto re-sized to fit.

Adding/updating an avatar

Once you are logged into your account control panel. Scroll to upload avatat. Click the browse button. A window will open. Navigate to where the image is stored on your hard drive and select it. Once selected enter your current password above and click update my private details. You just added or updated your avatar.

Adding/updating pictures

Once you are logged into your account control panel. Go to my photos. Click the browse button. A window will open. Navigate to where the image is stored on your hard drive and select it. Then click update photo. You can have up to three images but you must upload them one at a time. All image are restricted to 400x300px landscape and 300x400px portrait. All images should be web ready in either GIF of JPEG formats. The images will be auto resized to these sizes if the image is larger than the specs provided. You may get an error message if the image you are trying to upload has not be compressed small enough. If you get an error message make the image smaller by editing it in an image editing software program or choose a different image.

Rating MDW members

When logged in, you can rate any member by choosing rate me. Use the drop down menu to select a rating between 1-5. Excellent (5) Not Good (1) then click vote. You may only vote once per MDW member.

Adding MDW friends

When logged you can click on any members avatar to take you to their member profile. You can add friends by clicking the add to friends. They will now be in your friends list.

Removing MDW friends

When logged in your my account at the top on any page then click my friends. Here will be a list of your friends in alphabetical order. To remove any friend one at a time click remove. You can also go to any members profile that is a friend and click remove from friends.

Sending messages

When at any members profile their will be a link named send message to (members name). Click this to send any member a message. Add title and message then click send.

Guest book

Just like making comments or posting reviews for drinks you can comment about any user by posting a comment(s). When logged to MDW go to the bottom of any members profile page. Their is an area to post your comments. Remember this can be either public or private depending on the members preferences.

Deleting Messages

When logged in into your account. Go to your control panel and click my messages, then the message. Check to delete this message and click reply to this message. It will not send a reply if you checked it to delete.
