Vodka is probably the closest thing to the perfect spirit that has ever been invented. It tastes like nothing, it is has no color to speak of and it goes with everything. Vodka will graciously assume the characteristics of whatever it is mixed with. Its just pure uncomplicated alcohol. Truly perfect.

The word "Vodka in as a Russian endearment meaning " little water", from a word they use called ,voda. Although it is totally impossible to backtrack to the actual pinpoint origins of vodka. It is believed that it originated in Russia sometime in the fourteenth century. It was also distilled in Poland around the same time. Their does seem to be some debate about this. We here at Mixed Drink World would like to think that it is just timeless and we will let the historians debate it further.

Vodka has been made out of potatoes and other vegetables at various times in history, but today almost exclusively from grains corn, rye, and wheat but principally rye. A basic mash is from altering the grains and making them ferment with cultured yeasts. The resulting mix is distilled over and over again in a column still increasing the degrees. The higher the proof, the less flavor. As an added measure it then striped of any flavors and character, as it is filtered through charcoal. Vodka is then bottled at an average of 37%.

How to Serve
Most Vodkas are recommended to be stored in the freezer and the glasses to be chilled. We would like to see the bottle have a mist of condensation on the entire bottle.
Vodka can be served as shots, or even the aged vodkas be sipped and appreciated for their age and origins. But the most popular way to serve Vodka has to be in a mixed drink recipe.
