The original sex on the beach includes Chambord raspberry liqueur, melon liqueur, pineapple juice and cranberry juice. Sweet sex on the beach includes vodka, peach schnapps, raspberry liqueur, cranberry juice, and orange juice. Ultimate sex on the beach includes: citrus vodka, strawberry schnapps, orange juice and cream. Each version of Sex on the Beach is unique in its own way but they are all fantastic and sweet. Generally, the drink’s ingredients are mixed together and shaken with ice and then strained into a highball glass; which is why this drink is also known as a highball cocktail. This is a well known drink that has made its way around the world.

Sex on the Beach was first introduced at TGI Friday’s. Although many people make up their own drinks this cocktail is actually an International Bartenders Association Official Cocktail. Even though the original name of the drink is Sex on the Beach it also has several different names; at Red Robin the drink is known as Sand in your shorts. At most restaurants the cocktail is not called Sex on the Beach because they try to avoid using the word “sex” on their menus.
